Firearms Training
Safe, responsible firearms education for real-world confidence.
Firearms training at Creating Equality is built around safety, responsibility, and clear instruction. Whether you are preparing for a Minnesota Permit to Carry, learning handgun fundamentals, improving marksmanship, or looking for private instruction, the goal is to help you build skill without pressure or intimidation.
Who This Is For
This training may be a good fit if you are new to firearms, preparing for a Minnesota Permit to Carry, looking to improve your fundamentals, or wanting private instruction before joining a group class. It is also a good fit for students who feel nervous, rusty, or unsure where to begin.
Training Options
Minnesota Permit to Carry
Classroom and live-fire training for people who want to apply for a Minnesota Permit to Carry. This course covers fundamental handgun use, legal considerations, responsible carry, defensive decision-making, conflict mitigation, psychological and physical effects during and after an incident, and the live-fire qualification.
Basic Handgun
A practical starting point for new, returning, or hesitant students who want to build comfort with safe handgun handling. This lesson covers safety, basic operation, loading and unloading, grip, stance, and foundational shooting skills.
Marksmanship Simplified
Focused skill-building for students who want to improve accuracy, consistency, and confidence. This training helps students better understand the fundamentals that affect their shooting and how to practice with purpose.
Private Firearms Lessons
One-on-one or small-group instruction based on your experience, goals, and comfort level. Private lessons are a good option if you want a slower pace, focused coaching, or a more personal learning environment.
What to Expect
Clear instruction
You will learn the why behind the skill, not just what to do.
Safety-first handling
Training is built around safe firearm handling, responsible decision-making, and calm repetition.
No pressure or posturing
Questions are welcome. Experience is not assumed. The goal is useful progress, not performance.
Practical next steps
Whether you are preparing to carry, building confidence, or improving fundamentals, we’ll help you understand what to work on next.
New to Firearms?
You do not need prior experience to begin. If you are brand new, nervous, or unsure about joining a group class, Basic Handgun or private instruction may be a better first step before Permit to Carry.
If your goal is to carry a firearm, we want you to feel prepared for the responsibility, not rushed through the process.
